Gareth Hart

Gareth Hart is an experienced and recognised leader working across the Creative Industries and NFP sectors in Australia. For over two decades, their work traverses organisation leadership, program design, festival management, income diversification, strategic planning, community engagement, sector engagement, and creative recovery initiatives.

Leading from a desire to have positive, lasting impact for the communities, their practice is underpinned by deeply held values of humanity and humanness. Gareth is especially driven by working in counter-urban contexts, for socially-engaged organisations, supporting emerging artists, and working with queer & Indigenous folk.

Former roles include CEO/Creative Director (Burrinja Cultural Centre), Executive Director (Arts Mildura), Festival Director (hillsceneLIVE) and co-Artistic Director (CRACK Theatre Festival).

In 2017 they were awarded an Australia Day Award for ‘outstanding contribution to the Yarra Ranges Community’ (Yarra Ranges Council), and in 2019 was selected for the highly competitive Leadership Program at Creative Australia.
